How much does the Pindari Program cost?
We don’t want to make money a barrier for taking action towards change! With this in mind, the amount we charge is considerably lower than the actual cost of the Pindari Program (actual cost is $1650 per week for a resident).
The weekly charge is $500* per week.
*However, those either on Centrelink or eligible for Centrelink are only charged 80% of their Centrelink payment, or a minimum of $300 per week, whichever is greater.
This amount helps to contribute to the housing, food and program costs. Pindari seeks to cover the shortfall through fundraising and sponsorship within our local community. We are grateful for the community support we recieve. Clients also contirbute in a small way to the short fall by participating in work on and off site, which is part of the work therapy program.
In Summary:

Unable to get Centrelink due to financial circumstances & you have 100 points of Identification? | $1,150 | 2 weeks | $1,000 |

Who can participate in the Pindari Program?
Pindari supports Male’s suffering from alcohol or other drug addiction. We also help males struggling with anxiety and depression and also other life-controlling issues.
We can assist Males from 18 years up:
- Who know they need help to overcome the chains of addiction
- Are 100% determined to take action towards change
- Are prepared to put in the time and effort to see the results.
Residents will find the program confronting and challenging at times. While their stay is voluntary, we require you to participate in all aspects of the program.
Who cannot participate in the Pindari Program?
Because of its community-based approach, Pindari cannot provide sanctuary to men with:
- Severe mental illness and other complex medical needs that require high supervision and care.
- Extreme psychological disturbances that could endanger themselves or others.
- Pending charges or criminal convictions of a sexual nature.
- Pending charges or criminal convictions of arson.
Please know that any of the above does not make you unworthy of help and support, we simply cannot support you to the extent of your needs. We encourage you to keep looking for rehabilitation options that can fully support your steps toward change.
Does Pindari take people direct from prison or on parole or bail?
The short answer is NO we do not take people straight from prison or as part of a bail program or an early release program. If you call us after you have been released we can discuss your application.
If you have upcoming charges and court appearances awaiting an outcome, it is Pindari’s policy to wait for the resolution before acceptance into our program.
What practical short and long term support does Pindari offer its Residents?
Aside from the tools and training men will receive through the Pindari Restoration Program, we provide on-site housing in a shared residential style. We also provide food and provisions.
As Pindari seeks to help men in all areas of their life, we can assist residents in finding (part or full time) employment, work or other study arrangements as they progress within the program.
Residents in the latter stages may qualify for our transitional housing program.

- Engage in our curriculum modules
- Engage in couselling

Do I need to be a Christian to apply?
No, you do not need to be a Christian to apply for the Pindari Program. However, as we are a Christian organisation, we run our program with Christian values and require you to respect our code of conduct and participate in our faith-based framework for the duration of the program.
Do I need to become a Christian to finish the program?
No, you do not need to become a Christian to complete our program.
How long is the Pindari Program?
We have developed our framework to run over a 12-month period. The timeline is flexible and is based on your individual needs and progression through the program. Our goal is to set you up for success, rather than just ‘tick the boxes’.
The Program and its duration is on a case-by-case basis.
My family member is struggling with addiction, can I apply for them?
No, unfortunately, we require the individual to apply for himself. This is because it shows the first step towards seeking change, and demonstrates that he is willing to take action.
Please use our website and resources as a guide to discuss our program with your family member. He might not be ready right now, but you can still be a positive influence towards action.
Can I smoke while at Pindari?
Pindari has a strict no-smoking policy. There is also no vaping or other nicotine products allowed.
Can I take my prescription medication while at Pindari?
As part of the assessment process, Pindari professional GP and psychiatrist will assess what medications you need to take if any! We accept the use of prescription drugs for medical issues, such as blood pressure, heart medicine, Ventolin etc. We endeavour to always act in the best interests of the resident. We do permit anti-psych medicines as prescribed by the psychiatrist with the view to review and lesson the dosage as symptoms resolve.

No mobile phones are allowed during your time in the program. You will be required to hand over your phone to staff on intake. Phone calls to family will be allowed from Stage 2 on Pindari supplied phones.
Will I be able to have contact with my family and friends while at Pindari?
Yes, we encourage the rebuilding of relationships and family who are supportive of being involved in your journey. However, we do not allow any phone or family contact during the first stage of the program, exceptions are generally made for contact with young children where approved by management. This is to ensure residents are focused on settling into the program and to minimise outside distractions.
If I relapse, does this mean I have failed?
No, we understand that sometimes, the journey is tough and relapse is a possibility.
If a resident relapses during or after completion of the program we will discuss with the resident what it will look like for them to re-engage in the program.
The life-long journey of battling addiction is not linear or smooth. Just remember, hard does not equal bad. And a step backward does not equal failure.
Does Pindari offer detox services?
No. Pindari does not have any detox facilities or services.
If detox is required , Pindari can organise a referral to Next Step for clients that are successful in their application to come into the Pindari Prgogram.
